6 Tips for Buying Baby Clothes Online Effortlessly

Whether I buy new and score great deals, or used and get even better deals; you can get really amazing items for your little one.

Tip 1-Sign Up For Amazon Prime

The benefits of having Amazon Prime far outweigh its yearly cost. For less than a hundred dollars, you can shop as much as you want and get totally free shipping. Plus, nearly all items ship in a day or two. There are reviews to read and charts posted so you ensure that you order the right size. You can even post a question if you have one before making a purchase.

I’ve also noticed that the online retailer carries tons of brands and offers them at a significantly reduced price. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve purchased shoes for my son in store, and found that I could have gotten them ten dollars cheaper (plus saved me the cost of gas) if I’d only ordered them online.

Tip 2-Enter an Auction

Auctions were the only way I’d buy my son clothing when he was a small baby. Because little ones grow like weeds in their first year of life, I refused to ever pay full price (or buy items from stores, even if they were on sale). I literally gave him a wardrobe of designer clothes that were gently used.

If some of your favorite stores for your children are having massive online only sales, take advantage of these savings. I learned that if a site was advertising 70% off, I’d only buy items he could wear across seasons (onesies, undershirts, basic play t-shirts), I’d stock up on items for the next year.

For example, he wears jeans across every season, so why would I not pay $8 per pair and have several pairs sitting in his closet on reserve, in various sizes? It not only eliminated the need to buy pants for him every season, but it always ensured that I wasn’t spending full price on items that he was going to need eventually anyway!

Tip 4-Open a Store Card

You’re probably rolling your eyes at the thought of having another store card in your wallet and expanding up on your line of credit. Let me explain something though-store cards do have their perks, especially when shopping online.

Some retailers offer an extra 20% off of a 50% off sale if you use your card. Others will offer free shipping, or even give you reward dollars or cash back on a percentage of your purchases.

No one told you that you have to carry around the balance. When you charge your child’s clothing, you can set up an account online so you can log in and immediately pay off what you owe. This way, you can reap the benefits of being a cardholder, but not fall victim to a hefty balance!

Tip 5-Use Online Baby Boutiques

Online baby boutiques have become quite the rave in the last few years. Fortunately for you, they’re also hyper competitive on low pricing and superior quality. What’s nice about online baby boutiques is that you can usually find much cuter clothes in comparison to the generic style baby clothing you often find at retailers like Target.

Tip 6-When In Doubt, Size Up

I know a lot of moms who don’t shop online for their children’s clothes because they always fit to tight. After viewing the size chart, if your child is on the fence between two sizes, it’s best to always size up. You would rather have something too big for them to grow into, instead of something too small that you have to take back or never use.

Shopping online has been my go-to practice since my son has been born. I not only save my sanity (shopping with a 2 year old can be a nightmare), but my gas, wear and tear on my car, my cash, and most importantly-my time.
