Fun Fall Treats To Make With Kids
One of everyone's favorite parts of fall is the treats. Whether they are sprawled out on your floor on Halloween night or baking in the oven, a fall treat is sure to make your day better! To make the process of making these treats even more fun, try getting your kids involved! Listed below are kid-friendly and easy to make.
Caramel Rice Krispie Treats
Rice Krispie Treats are a staple in many people's childhood, young and old. So, any treat involving everyone's favorite cereal plus caramel is sure to make your mouth water. The addition of caramel is to provide more of a fall taste to it and an extra sweetness. Simply have your child pour Rice Krispies into a mixing bowl. Add your melted marshmallows to the bowl and stir until it is well mixed. Then, pour onto into a rectangle pan and allow them to set for about an hour. After they are cooled down, drizzle as much caramel as you want on top of it. Cut up into small squares and enjoy!
Clementine Celery Pumpkins
For a more simple and quick treat, try having your child assemble a clementine celery pumpkin. This cute combination can be added to your kids lunch bag for school or can be a quick breakfast. All you have to do is peel a clementine, cut up a small stick of celery, and stick it through the middle of the clementine. Then you're done. This takes just minutes to assemble but also creates a healthy mixture of fruits and veggies. As an added plus, this snack also looks like a cute little pumpkin!
Rolo Pretzel Turtles
For more of a sweet and savory treat, try the Rolo pretzel turtles! This is a quick assembling snack that can feel addicting to eat. Lay out a layer of pretzels on a baking sheet and then add a single Rolo on top of each pretzel. Then, add them to the oven at 300 degrees. After about 4 minutes, take the pretzels out of the oven and press 1 pecan onto each Rolo. Let these chill in the fridge and then they are ready to eat. With the pecan on top of this treat, it looks like a cute turtle shell! Snacking on this while being bundled up in a warm blanket is a treasure, and is sure to be loved by your kids!
Apple Teeth
This spooky treat is yummy and fun to make for kids and parents! Your child's friends are sure to get a kick out of this too. Slice and apple into average sized slices. Then, coat one side of each apple in peanut butter. To make the teeth, get small marshmallows and line them up in between the two coated layers of the apples. And there you go! Now you have a set of teeth that will shockingly tast really good. Bone Apple Teeth!
Mummy Sandwich
This funny sandwich will have your child receive a lot of attention at lunch! On the plus side, it is super quick to make, so don't worry about rushing in the morning to assemble it. Take a slice of bread of your choice and and spread tomato sauce on top of it. Then, add about 5-6 small slices of mozzarella cheese on top of it. Crisscross the slices in a way that mimics the look of a mummy. Then get two olives and place them near the top to act as eyes. Add this to the toaster for about 1:30 and then you're done!
Boo! Bananas
This is a super simple recipe that requires two ingredients! You can even send the ingredients in your child's lunch bag for them to prepare at school (that's how easy it is!). All you need is a banana and chocolate chips. Simply cut the banana in half and, near the top, add three chocolate chips in the shape of a triangle. This will act as the eyes and the mouth of the ghost. And that is it! This treat is also healthy, delicious, and can be eaten quickly if you're on the go!
