Planning A Gender Neutral Nursery

If you have decided on a gender neutral theme for your nursery, here’s some inspiration for your theme!

Taupe and Gray are the most popular colors we see, with huge demand for solids, linens, or tone on tone patterns in these colors.  Once you have decided on your theme or color, shop first for your crib and furniture. There are SO many shades of gray and taupe and having your furniture means you can select paint colors and fabric colors that look great with your big investment in furniture.

Keep in mind, furniture often takes up to 12 weeks to order and arrive.

Linen crib bedding is a popular choice, with its natural look and simple elegance. Liz and Roo has a wide selection of mix and match linen crib bedding in taupe (we call this “flax”, shown below in a skirt) plus willow and navy, rounding out the gender neutral colors. Linen is soft and lightweight, a product of nature. It is a fabric that creates an elegant ambiance in the nursery.

Grays and whites are also great gender neutral colors. A simple white skirt accented with a gray crib sheet can work in almost any nursery, boy or girl.

Gray Woodland Crib Bedding

This gray woodland bedding set was our top seller in 2017 for both baby boys and baby , and while it has a woodland theme, it works for either gender.

The current trend is buffalo check, French plaid, and solids. We love the look of taupe buffalo check mixed with a pattern like bears or fawns or giraffes!

Accessories can really change the room. On your checklist, include walls (paint or wallpaper?), lights, and wall decor. Wall initials are extremely popular and a fun do-it-yourself-project. Stenciling is another option. We love the look of the peel and stick trees placed on these gray walls.

Of course, Liz and Roo monograms baby pillows and shams, a very popular gift for baby! Pinterest is a great source of personalized ideas for the nursery. It may be the only time in your life to do something like this. Let it be a reflection of your dream for your new baby!
